Roses and Thorns
Newly-married, a husband shows his true colours as he abuses his wife.
With such a heavy subject matter, it was important to treat this project with care, even if I was just colour-grading. The director Tiffani Walsh, had a specific vision for this film of starting the film visually being very bright and colourful, and gradually as the story progresses, become cold, dark and less saturated, culminating in the final scene where I was tasked with fading all colour out except the blood on the white roses. This also involved colour-grading films shot in the day to appear more like it was in the early morning, evening and night. Below is a showcase of how it progresses.
